I heard of the Black Kids pretty late last year and I haven’t been able to stop listening to them till now. I think there is nothing really special about their lyrics, and their music is not really groundbreaking—but there is something pleasingly familiar with their melodies that attracts me to them, like “I’m Making Eyes at You” that reminds me a lot of Billy Idol’s “Eyes Without a Face” (the titles were incidental, I guess). Black Kids have wit and they do sound awfully sincere and candid that it makes me sing along to them with feelings. So by the time they demand, “Love Me Already”—I have already gone head over heels and worn my dancing shoes.
